LABM se výzkumně zabývá využitím jednoduchých a ekonomicky dostupných technik v oboru fyziologie, biochemie a parazitologie, se zaměřením na jejich aplikovatelnost v tropických oblastech rozvojového světa.
Výzkum v rámci oborů „Agriculture in Tropics and Subtropics“ a nově akreditovaném oboru „Tropical Agrobiology and Bioresource Management“ je zaměřen na témata:
- Monitoring the health status of animals for the production of safe food of animal origin.
- Parasites of wild and exotic animals, morphological identification of agents and their typing by molecular methods.
- Foodborne diseases and zoonotic foodborne diseases of parasitic origin.
