Research

Colonic metabolism of polyphenols and the effect of food matrix

Medicinal plants and bioactive secondary metabolites, analytical separation techniques and phytochemical analysis (GC-MS, HPLC); Microbiology; Lactic acid bacteria metabolite profilling, Cell culture- based assays, Enzyme inhibitiors, Plant antimicrobials. 

Member of the COST infogest Action management commitee.


Teaching and University Duties

Until 2016 Associate professor, lecturer of the subjects: Food, Beverages and Nutritional Supplements (BS-level)Healhy Eating and Dietetics (BS-level) and partially the subject Nutrition and Human Nutritional Requirements (BS-level).

In 2014 supervisor of four Ph.D. students: Ivo Doskocil, Zuzana Hroncova, Tereza VolstatovaMartin Kamler

Supervisor of more than 60 MSc. or BS. theses in the field of food safety, human nutrition, phytochemistry and natural products discovery.
